After discussing my friend's requirements we decided to use WordPress. Slight modifications to the theme and a bunch of plugins should do the trick :)

I have a list of about 15 essential plug-ins I add to most of my wordpress websites. I will blog about it in the future.

I also had the exact same experience. I tried to pre-register about 150 .asia domain names. According to the .asia registry, I should be given an opportunity to bid against the other pre-registers. I was not given this opportunity. I pre-registered with Hostway.com I feel scammed, and also think this entire opening should be first come first serve. Not, being able to participate in the bidding against other people that wanted the domain name without any communication is just poor on the .asia organization. Also, .asia had numerous domain names reserved. This is also wrong. Like I said, first come first serve. I can understand about the trademark problems, but let those problems be resolved with a lawyer.

In summary, the whole process I feel was rigged. I should of at least had the opportunity to bid against other people in the preregistration process.

I did win some names, but not the ones that I would liked to have an opportunity to get.

I love Drupal and highly recommend it. The support community is, well, very supportive. If it's hard at first give it a chance, once you learn Drupal you can build any website you want pretty simply. Drupal is very powerful and flexible.. this can scare some, don't let that scare ya.

So, knowing about all these plugins and their respective features which would you recommend? And why? e.g. Is there a certain feature you prefer that the other don't have? Or is it speed? (btw, here is a site with a speedtest of 3 of them http://binarytendencies.com/tests/benchmarking-google-analytics-plugins/)

Thanks.
